Affiliate Disclosure
How affiliate links work on TAV Reviews — and the firewall between them and our verdicts.
TAV Reviews is free to read. To keep it that way, we use affiliate links, and we want to be completely clear about what that means.
What an affiliate link is
Some links to products and services on this site are affiliate links. If you click one and go on to buy or sign up, we may earn a commission from the retailer or vendor — at no extra cost to you. It does not change the price you pay.
The firewall
An affiliate commission never buys a better verdict, a higher score, a place in a “best of” list, or an editorial link. Our reviews are scored against fixed criteria before any commercial consideration, and whether a company runs an affiliate programme has no bearing on how we cover it. If the best product in a category has no affiliate programme, it still wins. If a free option beats a paid one, we say so.
Where you will see disclosure
Reviews and buying guides that contain affiliate links carry a visible disclosure above the article body, and this page is the standing, detailed explanation. This approach is consistent with the U.S. Federal Trade Commission’s guidance on disclosing material connections.
Other funding
We may also carry clearly-labelled advertising and sponsored content, always under strict rules — see our advertising & partnerships page. We do not sell links or paid guest posts. Questions? Email [email protected].
