I just wanted to update you all on the Xbox Music Beta update. While we still have a ways to go, Xbox Music is now available for download on Xbox One and will be coming to Xbox 360 devices over the next few weeks.
You can download a free Xbox Music app for your Xbox One today, but if you’re not yet a member of the Xbox music family, you can sign up now for just $1.99/month. If you’re already a member, you can start downloading music for free right now.
The free app is a bit limited at the moment with just 4,000 songs, but we expect the next iteration to be much bigger. The free version is limited to 100 songs, so you can play that many songs in the next 30 days. There is a paid option, which gives you 4,000 songs for the same price. Both the free and paid versions are available for Windows 10, Xbox One, and the Xbox Music app for Android.
If you have an Xbox One, then you’re already subscribed to the free tier, so you can already play all the songs that you’ve already paid for. But if not, you can start playing from the beginning by checking out the Music Store app. The free trial only lasts for 30 days, so you’ll need to pay for the paid version before you can download a full playlist.
It’s not just songs though. Even the paid version comes with 10 tracks to choose from, so its a good deal. The free trial only lasts for one week, so you should be sure to check that out before you pay for the paid version. I recommend checking out the music store music app to stream some of the songs youve paid for.
In addition to the music store app, I also like the xbox music app. Its free and pretty much just a list of the tunes youve downloaded.
xbox music has tons of music to choose from and its a lot easier to navigate than the xbox music app, but its still pretty clunky. The biggest improvement xbox music app makes is to let you buy songs for the same price as you get them, which is kind of a big deal. The music store app has a similar feature, but you can only buy songs for the paid versions of the app.
xbox music is just a list of tunes, though that’s not the whole story. The app lets you search for music, but for some reason it doesn’t remember your account and you can’t download any of your library. The app also doesn’t have a search function, so if you’re looking for a song, you have to look elsewhere. The music app’s biggest improvement is its price. It’s free for users of the Xbox, and only costs $2.
The next update of xbox music is apparently happening this month which will drop some of the premium features like song search. I can’t wait to see how this one works out.
The problem is that you cant just turn off the auto-renewal for a subscription, so if you wanna have a subscription to xbox music, you have to pay for it. But the good news is that all of the premium features will be coming to xbox music in a future update, it will be called the “Premium” update.
