As you know, we’re a busy family with lots of demands on our time, but also a huge amount of free time. It’s easy to ignore the holidays if we don’t have a plan for entertaining.
This is why I have a list of free online movie and TV shows that are still in theaters, and how to watch them. I also have a list of local theaters that you can go to that still have holiday films/tv shows in their schedule.
The problem is that most of the time we spend in some of these movies is to get something done. Many of them are actually very much like a lot of real life events. Instead of trying to figure out what to do, we just watch them and hope it’s all over.

It’s like watching two people in a movie together. It’s the only time I can think of where I’m headed with the lights turned off.

The only way to avoid the inevitable quiet is to go to the movies and be at the theater on Christmas Eve, watching one of the most popular holiday films of all time. At other times you can go to the movie theater on Christmas Day, but only if you want to see a movie with a holiday atmosphere. The rest of the year you can watch movies where the lights are on.
