I first discovered sound aura headphones (the one with the big purple button on the back) in the summer of 2013. They were on sale at RadioShack for like $65.00. I was in a small town in the Midwest and it was really hard to find a wireless headphone that didn’t have one. I was in the market for a new pair of headphones, and it didn’t really matter which one I picked.
So I picked a pair of sound aura wireless headphones from RadioShack. At first I thought, “Damn that is big!” but then I went to the website and it had the blue button on the back of them. Damn, I thought. I was just about to buy them.
A couple of people noticed that the headphones are a little expensive because of their price, but the actual pair of headphones are more reliable and less expensive than your average wireless headphone. For instance, the headphone is $300 which is a little expensive for a $150-150 pair of headphones but they are a little affordable for a $200 pair.
The first pair of headphones we tried on had a little problem. When we plugged them in, we heard a little sound that we thought was like the background of a movie. It made our ears hurt. The next pair of headphones had a little better problem. The sound was clearer and the ear cups were smaller, so that our ears could take it. The final pair of headphones had a little problem.
It’s not clear from the sound, but it’s worth mentioning that one of the headphones we tried was an in-ear design. This is what makes it great because you can fit it in your ear without having to remove your ear plugs, which is great for those of us who have small ear canals.
We didn’t know that the headphones we used were a lot like the ones that we used when we were talking about our audio devices, but at least it’s an audio device.
As always, we tried to use a brand new pair of headphones before we even knew that they existed. It was a little early in the morning. We were trying to get them to work properly, so we figured we’d give it a shot and get them to work with a few more hours of audio-in. That’s when we ran into trouble.
We were using the headphones and they werent working. Thats when we saw that they werent even compatible with the ones we had been using, and thus, we were out of luck. We also noticed that the headphones werent even plugging into the ones we had been using. So, we used the new ones, and we were able to get our audio to work again.
We got some good news though. According to this source, the new earbuds will only last about a year before they need to be replaced. So, if you’re planning to get them, you might want to wait.
And yes, it’s the same one that we’ve been using, but this time the USB port is now USB-C and the 3.5mm jack is replaced by a mini-USB one. Also, the earbuds do not support any of our other audio components like the external microphone and the mic array.
