The most commonly asked question I get from people when they want to get me to teach a class is “What do you do at your job?” The reason for this is that most of us can’t answer this question. Our job is to help and educate others.
The answer to the question of how you spend your time at work is actually quite simple, you spend your time at work. The question is how you spend your time at work and I recommend you take a look at what you do each day at work. It might be something that is completely unrelated to your job, it might be something very specific that is part of your job.
If you’re an unemployed person doing your worst, you usually start your day at 7 a.m. you start your day by checking your email and then checking the news. You spend the first few hours of your day working on a project. After that you have to get your lunch and then you go back to work. After lunch you go back to the office and you work your day. After work you go home and you get some sleep.
The point? You never know what youll come across. So a big part of performance freight tracking is tracking your performance by tracking your peers. If youre an employee at your job, you know whats coming your way. If youre a competitor at your job, you know whats coming your way. If youre a customer or a competitor at your job, you’re probably going to want to track who’s on your competitor’s team.
I get that tracking competitors is a pain. But, it also makes perfect sense to track your peers. If you’re a competitor at your job and you’re getting a lot of new work, that means you’re going to see more of yourself. And, if youre a competitor and you see youre getting a lot of new work, that means that you’re going to see more of the competition.
Companies like performance freight use a lot of data about their employees to make hiring, firing, and promotions decisions. They even have a program called the “Employee Performance Score,” which tracks a lot of things about your performance. This includes things like how much money you make, how much time you spend on the job, how hard you work, and whether or not you have a good job. And, if it was up to them, they would track you 24/7.
While companies are making money off of these kinds of data, the data itself is also being tracked by data-miners like Google and Facebook. They use this data to figure out when an employee has been fired, when he has made a mistake, and so on. This is a great way for companies to control their workforce and make sure they keep a tight grip on who is working where.
For some, this has been a profitable business for years, but for others it has been a disaster. Some companies use this data to figure out when to fire and fire people. If you see that a ton of your colleagues or employees have been fired recently, you can make a guess at how long it has been since you last saw them. In reality, these companies have a data-miner on their payroll.
In performance freight, the company or person responsible for monitoring employee performance is also the data-miner. The company tracks its employees by their “performance score”, which is a value that the company uses to decide when to send them on performance review, or when to let them go.
If you have a small to medium sized company that’s been around for a while, it may be hard to track your employees’ performance. The problem arises when you have many employees, and they’re all doing something that’s important to you, but that’s not tracked to a specific employee. In performance freight, this is where your personal data (your phone, for example) comes in.
