They have not really thought about it, and they probably have not considered the possibility that someone might try to use your iPhone to access your computer.
The iPhone is built to withstand a pretty high level of hacking (and even a pretty high level of physical damage) because it is a cellphone. While the iPhone is still very secure, the iPhone is far from being a secure computer. The iPhone allows it to be used in conjunction with a computer, but you do not have to have a computer to use the iPhone.
