I am still in the process of being a stay-at-home-mom, but I’m also working to learn how to be more active and mindful in my everyday life. I have found that I cannot just sit in a chair and wait for the next thing to happen. There are things I want to do before I even get up, so I need to be proactive and get moving.
There is a bit of a problem with this. When I am being proactive and moving, I have to move, and when I am being too reactive and sitting still, I have to sit still. In other words, I have to “get up and do it” as much as I can, or I die. We have all done this in one form or another. For some reason, I find that I react to doing things before I have time to think about them.
I find this especially true when I am doing something I want to do. I want to walk, then walk for five minutes, then walk again, then take a break, then walk again. But I know my body can’t do that. I know I need to take a break, then walk again. But I don’t know which way to walk.
I know this is a very basic level of self-awareness. I know I need to take a break when I am working, and that I dont need to walk the exact same way. But it is still a small level of self-awareness.
A good rule of thumb that I have learned is that if you are going in the direction of death, you will want to take the road that takes you somewhere else. If you are walking you need to walk in the direction of death. If you are walking in the direction of death, and you want to take the road that takes you where you want to go, then you need to take the road that takes you where you want to go.
And if you want to be able to step out of death, then you don’t need to walk in the direction of death. The only thing you need to do is to take the road that takes you where you want to go. Since its a good rule of thumb, you need to walk in the direction of death.
